Ana Filipa Vrdoljak is Professor of Law, UNESCO Chair on International Law and Cultural Heritage, and co-coordinator of the UNESCO-UNITWIN Network on Culture in Emergencies at the University of Technology Sydney. She is recent past President of the International Cultural Property Society. She is author of International Law, Museums and the Return of Cultural Objects (Cambridge University Press, 1e 2006, 2e forthcoming); and editor of The Cultural Dimension of Human Rights (Oxford University Press, 2013), International Law for Common Goods: Normative Perspectives in Human Rights, Culture and Nature with Federico Lenzerini (Hart Publishing, 2014), Oxford Handbook of International Cultural Heritage Law (Oxford University Press 2020) with the late Francesco Francioni, and The 1970 UNESCO and 1995 UNIDROIT Conventions: A Commentary (Oxford University Press 2024) with Andrzej Jakubowski and Alessandro Chechi. She is General Editor of the Oxford University Press book series, Cultural heritage law and policyand Oxford Commentaries on International Cultural Heritage Law, and is on the Management Committee, International Journal of Cultural Property (Cambridge University Press). She has been Fernand Braudel Senior Fellow, Marie Curie Fellow and Jean Monnet Fellow, Law Department European University Institute, Florence. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy (in Law) from the University of Sydney.
